Yes, today as I write it is the first day of fall. It still feels like summer where I am, but at least it is not in triple digit heat like we did have in our summer this year.
This night I am still using my fans. So, yes, it does still seem like summer.
Yet, I do have to plan ahead as the cold will come as it always comes and the cold will cause the leaves to fall as it always does year after year.
Well, the sun will move in the firmament and shine on us at a different angle. It is what causes the cold to come, the movement on the sun coming in at an angle for me more to the south and then the cold will come.
I still have to chop wood as this heat will go away and the time of me constantly wearing a jacket and sometimes me wearing two jackets will come as the cold comes.
I do look forward to burning wood in my fireplace as that is what I use for my heat. I have not used my furnace since 2014, the same year that I bought my 91 Chevy S10 pickup. Since then I would just pick up wood that people would give away for free.
It is usually people that had to cut down their sick tree and just wanted to get rid of the wood. So that is why I have not used my furnace since buying my old little pickup and it has saved me a lot on natural gas.
When the leaves used to fall I would put them on the side of the street where they would pick up the leave sometime after Thanksgiving and again sometime after New Years Eve.
Now days I don't put that much leaves on the street. What I like to do now is to bring the leaves into my backyard and put them under my fruit trees. This way the leaves will hold the moister and will fertilize the trees with its nutrients.
So it is the first day of fall and it seems like summer still, but that will change in time.
Let's end with a scripture, as it is written, with Jesus speaking, Hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky and of the earth; but how is it that ye do not discern this time? Luke 12:56.
