I did not plant this orange tree, it was already a very strong tree when I and my wife at the time bought the house that I have lived in for almost 31 years now.
My wife at the time left me sometime after we bought the house, then she wanted a divorce. Who knows why a wife will leave? Was the grass greener on the other side of the fence? Who knows. I have read that on most divorces in the USA, it is the wife that initiates the divorce.
After she left me I heard that she married and divorced three more husbands. I am 62 years old as I write, it sounds like she never found her perfect husband.
Well, I guess that is how it goes. In the pursuit of the perfect husband, a woman might end up with no husband at all. As time goes on, the looks of youth will leave with age.
It happens with both men and women, the looks of youth will fade sooner or later.
Yet here I am. I still have the house. She didn't want it, so I took on roommates to keep the house, then after awhile I didn't need my roommates anymore as I became more financially stable. So when the last set of roommates moved out back in the last part of 1995 I never replaced them.
Others asked me if I would rent a room to them, but I told them that I like living alone and I was not looking for a roommate. Many people since then wanted to be my roommate, but I like living on my own. Well, on my own with my cat, of course.
I did let a nephew live with me for a month back in 2009, then he had to leave for a job out of state.
So the orange tree was here when I first moved in almost 31 years ago and it is still here and it is still fruiting every year. That is good to partake of the fruit of this tree.
