This Friday I was mowing my mom's front and back lawns. Well, I noticed this cluster of growing pecans. They won't be ready for awhile, but are they not pretty to look at?
These trees were there before my mom came to this place about eleven years ago. The PG&E, or electric company wanted to cut down all those trees.
Even though they offered to cut them down for free, mom eventually said, no. The PG&E company just care if the trees are touching the power lines or not, but this is also a food tree. Actually mom has more than one of these trees in her backyard.
I don't even know if people planted these trees or maybe they were all volunteers. You know even in my own yard I sometimes see a pecan nut. Well I don't have a pecan tree, but someone else must have one or more and the birds were trying to carry them someplace and accidentally drop them in my yard.
I remember sometimes I would here knocking in my own house. When I go to the door no one is there. Later I found out that birds would come to my roof and bring a nut of some kind and pound it against the roof with its beak.
Well, by doing that it caused that knocking sound. So birds like to use my roof to open up nuts. Well, it makes sense now.
So that is why I also see pecans on my lawn even though I don't have a pecan tree. Now we see that the birds have a lot of uses.
I like the birds as they eat the big caterpillars on my tomato plants. Birds can be beneficial to the garden. Also I have seen a bird go into my Swiss Chard plant and eat the leaves. That must be some kind of healthy bird.
Well, as I remember I had a lot of Swiss Chard then, so if a bird wants some of it then I am OK with it, as I can't eat it all.
It was hot again as I was mowing my mom's front and back lawn. Yes, I had a good sweat. One thing about having a good sweat is that you want to replace those electrolytes that you lost when sweating.
I like to mix cold water with some shakes of pink Himalayan salt and a thousand milligrams of vitamin C powder. After a good sweat that drink does taste pretty good, well to me, anyway.
Remember how Jesus said that salt is good? As it is written, Salt good: but if the salt have lost his saltness, wherewith will ye season it? Have salt in yourselves, and have peace one with another. Mark 9:50.
So I don't like to listen to the doctors that tell my mom to have a low sodium diet. Why limit salt when salt is good?
That reminds me of the audio called, Dead Doctors Don't Lie by Joel Wallach. He mentions these old people that drink a lot of cups of tea, each with a hunk of butter and a lump of salt and they live to be 110 to 140 years old. Well, they do live longer than most doctors.
I like the Himalayan salt because of all the trace minerals in it. I was planning on buying some of the black Himalayan salt. That even has more minerals in it, but it will have a sulfur like taste or a taste like eggs. Well, I will try a little anyway.
Let's end with a scripture, with Jesus speaking, For whosoever shall give you a cup of water to drink in my name, because ye belong to Christ, verily I say unto you, he shall not lose his reward. Mark 9:41.
