A common sight at the edge of a lake or river is the fallen tree. Usually stripped bare of its bark, smooth, shiny, and devoid of branches. That being said, they are very photogenic and interesting to look at, and even sometimes can be used as a makeshift bridge to get you from one dry area to another.
