One interesting thing to experience as you ascend to the summit of a mountaintop, is the ever changing mountainscape. One minute “this mountain” is your end goal, another few minutes later and it’s “that other mountain”. Then it changes on the fly. Sort of an illusion perhaps, but it is due to the fact that the trail from point A to point B is never straight as the crow flys, it is winding and curving constantly. Honestly this is what makes hiking super fun! What do you think? Photos taken on the Larch Valley hiking trail on the way to Minnestimma lakes, Banff National Park, Alberta.
