Looking back at the past year, I have been through a whirlwind of emotions and experiences that have shaped me in ways I never imagined. It was a year of growth and connection like none other, thanks to Hive, Hive Learners and #Dreemport that opened my mind to new perspectives and ideas. From exploring mental health to diving into sustainability practices, I learned so much about myself and the world around me. The ability to learn from our surroundings is part of human nature, but we have to choose what we want to learn, whether that is the false world of the internet that blinds our eyes to true beauty or knowledge that makes us better people.
I remember my first day here like it was yesterday. I was so nervous and excited all at the same time. I had no idea what to expect or how to act. I just knew that I needed to make the most of this experience. Looking back now, I see that everything happens for a reason and that my growth and connection this past year has been part of my journey.
There are stuff in life that we all go through – love, loss, heartache, happiness. They are what shape us and help us grow. This past year, I experienced all of these things and more. And with each new experience, I learned something valuable about myself, others, and the world around me.
One of the most important things I learned is that it’s okay to be vulnerable. We all have walls up – some higher than others – but it’s when we let our guard down and allow ourselves to be open with others that we truly connect with them. It’s through these connections that we grow and learn more about ourselves.
Every week, I was exposed to new challenges and ideas that helped me stretch and grow in my thinking. I'm grateful for the opportunities I had to learn and reflect on my own journey through life.
The process of writing about my challenges and sharing them with others was also invaluable. Through this process, I learned to communicate better and to be more open about my feelings and experiences. This openness has helped me form deeper connections with others, which is something I cherish.
I particularly enjoyed the topics on relationships, self-care, family, and personal or human growth. I found that these topics resonated with me on a deeply personal level and helped me to understand myself and my relationship to others in a new way. I also appreciate the opportunity to share my own experiences and connect with others who are going through similar things.
One of the most important things I've learned is the importance of connection. We all crave connection and it's something that can be so hard to find. I hope with my work, I help people connect with themselves and with others in a deeper way. This is the only reward a person needs.
Most importantly Hive and Hive Learners is helping others develop their own voice as well. We all have something unique to share with the world and it's so important to find ways to share our gifts with others. I'm grateful to know some of the members in Hive Learners from @dreemport. It's quite a pleasure being able to recognise familiar names here and I believe it's a great opportunity for everyone to be able to showcase their writing and share opinion. I don't mean for this post to be like an Oscar speech, so I'll stop here - isshhh. Thanks to all the communities here for giving people a chance to be themselves.
Let our children not grow up in a terrible world. Together we can make it better. It is our destiny to
suffer from the past, to long for the future, but to forget the present.
