If you read my previous post, you will be well aware that I headed out on the moors the other day, well after scanning through the images, I've got a few stills that I like, even though I shot over 1000 images that day, most were for time lapse photography rather than stills.
Anyhow, here are some of my favourite stills from the day, believe it or not, the shot above was taken from the side of a road.
One thing I do love about this part of the peak district, is the feeling of isolation you get, as the moorland seems to roll on for miles and miles, even though Sheffield is only about 10 minutes away in the car.
It really does feel like an alien world, apart from the tourists that flock there. Saturday was a hard shoot, as it was a pain trying to get shots without people in them, even if you zoom in to the shot above, there's people in it lol.
This was at the top of Stanedge Edge, I think they call it a Pike, but I may be well wrong, when I saw this, that's when I realised I wasn't on Higgar Tor lol.
The weather was constantly changing, from brilliant sunshine to the odd snow shower, I couldn't decide on colour or black and white for the above image, so I posted both. I also wanted to take the drone up, the UAV Forecast app said that winds would be around 8mph, I'm not sure if it was because I was out in the open, but the winds felt so much stronger than that, plus with there being a lot of people around, I decided not to do it.
I wasn't prepared for a long walk on Saturday, as I'd left my stove at home, and forgot to take water, so I probably walked about 2 miles or so, but there was activity every where you went, I found a little rock face, and thought I'd have a couple of minutes there and enjoy the view, and also watch the rock climbers.
As you can see from the picture, the edge stretches over a fair distance, and my next goal is to walk it to the ridge in the far distance.

I did a bit of photoshop and took the people out of the shot, although I'm not sure which I prefer, with or without, what do you think?
