So far I am enjoying playing MuTerra and learning about the new development that is in progress. Since I want to be prepared when the new development occurs and to also take advantage of the 5-year MUT Airdrop (additional info below), I acquired my first Mutee.
I purchased an Uncommon, Fire Mutee which has 32 Attack, 88 Health and 42 Armor. This Mutee is female so at some point in time, I will need to acquire a male so that I can use the pair for breeding which will be part of the game but I have not yet seen in the development roadmap.
My understanding is that you will need a Mutee for adventuring. When adventuring, if you happen across a wild mutee and battle it, you will have a chance of capturing that wild mutee which will be issued to you as an NFT.
Owned Mutees will also be able to be used in a future release of "mutee v/s mute battles"
MuTerra Development
MuTerra works on development and then does mini-releases so that there is always something new for a player to explore. I think this is very important because it will keep me from becoming bored waiting for the next game changes.
In the near future, the development of 2 features will be complete, tested and added to the game - dropping and storing items. I look forward to these two features because these are important steps to get closer to using the Mutee in the actual game play.
I do understand that development takes time and it is best to put out items and features that are of interest to the players and not just programing that the player cannot tell occurred.

Muterra Airdrop
The Muterra Airdrop started on January 15th 2023 and will last for 5 years. The Muterra Airdrop is based on the Muterra Assets that you own per the below chart.
I am working to increase my Muterra Assets each month so that I can participate in this airdrop. By getting my assets early, most if not all of them will have received their full value in the game token MUT.
MUT Staking Rewards
On top of the airdrop, there are also MUT staking rewards which will also last for 5 years. By adding to my MuTerra assets and receiving the airdrop, I will then receive staking rewards on all the MUT airdrop that I staked. Having the game assets actually pay for themselves and still having fun playing the game.
