For my morning walk today I went to the Owosso Bridge and then on to the Fred Meyer grocery store. I stopped for a few minutes on the bridge for some mindfulness practice where I could watch the river. I had a hard time keeping my mind from wandering. I’ve still got some residual stress and anxiety from something that had been looming since earlier in the week and was somewhat resolved last night (hopefully well), and it takes a while for that to recede for me, so my mind kept slipping tracks from the specific activity I was trying to do into generally thinking about things I wish I had said, etc. But I’m trying to maintain a nonjudgmental attitude about that and just note that I’m still practicing and developing these skills (and also be nonjudgmental about whether I’m being too judgmental).
