Pastel resists

beautifully simple technique providing great fun for children and adults alike. Today we used white oil pastel to draw onto the paper, this is particularly fun as when painting over with watercolour the image then gets revealed. You can use other colours of pastels for different styles, alternatively you can use a candle or wax crayons. If you don't have watercolour paints you can also water down poster or acrylic paint.
