School Activity: Stations of the Cross and Holy Week Reflections.

Today I want to share with you a very special video about an activity held at the U.E.N. Maestro Mena Herrera school in Villa de Cura. As part of the religious festivities, we came together to hold a school Stations of the Cross, an experience where students, teachers, and parents were able to connect with our traditions and foster values of respect and reflection.

Holy Week is not just a period of rest or vacation; it is a fundamental time for the culture and faith of many. It is a time for introspection, for remembering sacrifice, and, above all, for promoting peace and family unity. Through this journey, the children learn about the history and importance of these holy days.

The 14 Stations of the Cross

Here is a brief summary of what we experienced at each stop along our journey:

Station I: Jesus is condemned to death. The beginning of a path of self-sacrifice.
Station II: Jesus carries the cross. Acceptance of the sacrifice for humanity.
Station III: Jesus falls for the first time. A reminder of human frailty.
Station IV: Jesus meets his mother. The painful encounter between a son and his mother.
Station V: Simon of Cyrene helps Jesus. The importance of solidarity with one’s neighbor.
Station VI: Veronica wipes the face of Jesus. A gesture of courage and compassion.
Station VII: Jesus falls for the second time. Perseverance in the face of exhaustion.
Station VIII: Jesus comforts the women of Jerusalem. A message of hope in the midst of sorrow.
Station IX: Jesus falls for the third time. The final effort before reaching the goal.
10th Station: Jesus is stripped of his garments. Absolute humility.
11th Station: Jesus is nailed to the cross. The moment of greatest physical suffering.
12th Station: Jesus dies on the cross. The supreme act of love and redemption.
Thirteenth Station: Jesus is taken down from the cross. His body is handed over to his loved ones.
Fourteenth Station: Jesus is laid in the tomb. The moment of silence and waiting before glory.

This journey was a beautiful opportunity for the students to actively participate, understanding that each step holds a profound meaning of resilience and faith.

Hoy quiero compartir con ustedes un video muy especial sobre una actividad realizada en la institución educativa U. E.N Maestro Mena Herrera de Villa de cura. En el marco de las festividades religiosas, nos unimos para realizar un Vía Crucis escolar, una experiencia donde los estudiantes, maestros y representantes pudimos conectar con nuestras tradiciones y fomentar valores de respeto y reflexión.

La Semana Santa no es solo un período de asueto o vacaciones; es un tiempo fundamental para la cultura y la fe de muchos. Es un espacio para la introspección, para recordar el sacrificio y, sobre todo, para promover la paz y la unión familiar. A través de este recorrido, los niños aprenden sobre la historia y la importancia de estos días santos.

Las 14 Estaciones del Vía Crucis

Aquí les dejo un breve resumen de lo que vivimos en cada parada de nuestro recorrido:

I Estación: Jesús es condenado a muerte. El inicio de un camino de entrega.
II Estación: Jesús carga con la cruz. Aceptación del sacrificio por la humanidad.
III Estación: Jesús cae por primera vez. Un recordatorio de la fragilidad humana.
IV Estación: Jesús encuentra a su madre. El doloroso encuentro entre un hijo y su madre.
V Estación: El Cirineo ayuda a Jesús. La importancia de la solidaridad con el prójimo.
VI Estación: La Verónica limpia el rostro de Jesús. Un gesto de valentía y compasión.
VII Estación: Jesús cae por segunda vez. La perseverancia ante el cansancio.
VIII Estación: Jesús consuela a las mujeres de Jerusalén. Un mensaje de esperanza en medio del dolor.
IX Estación: Jesús cae por tercera vez. El esfuerzo final antes de llegar a la meta.
X Estación: Jesús es despojado de sus vestiduras. La humildad absoluta.
XI Estación: Jesús es clavado en la cruz. El momento de mayor sufrimiento físico.
XII Estación: Jesús muere en la cruz. El acto supremo de amor y redención.
XIII Estación: Jesús es bajado de la cruz. El cuerpo es entregado a sus seres queridos.
XIV Estación: Jesús es puesto en el sepulcro. El momento de silencio y espera antes de la gloria.

Este recorrido fue una oportunidad hermosa para que los alumnos participaran activamente, entendiendo que cada paso tiene un significado profundo de resiliencia y fe.
