Hello to the entire Hive DIY community馃挆. A few days ago, I was thinking about the animated series I used to love watching when I was younger. One of my favorites was Gravity Falls, not just for the mystery, suspense, and strange creatures, but also for how fun it was and how much I loved the character designs and nature scenes.
As铆 que me dieron ganas de recordar un poco esa 茅poca cuando ve铆a en la televisi贸n esas comiquitas y puse manos a la obra con un dibujo de Mabel Pines, uno de los dos personajes principales de la serie, que se caracteriza por una personalidad alegre, positiva, extrovertida y con un gran sentido del humor, haciendo que dibujarla fuera muy divertido.
So I felt inspired to revisit that time when I watched cartoons on TV, and I got to work on a drawing of Mabel Pines, one of the two main characters of the series. She鈥檚 known for her cheerful, positive, and outgoing personality, with a great sense of humor, which made drawing her super fun.

Los materiales que utilic茅 fueron mis colores, mi sketchbook para hacer el dibujo (que puede ser cualquier hoja blanca), una goma, un l谩piz de crayon y un lapicero o marcador delgado.
The materials I used were my colored pencils, my sketchbook (which can be any white sheet), an eraser, a crayon pencil, and a thin pen or marker.
Paso 1鉁忥笍:
Para iniciar el boceto, realizar un c铆rculo a mano alzada, con una l铆nea en forma vertical unida a 茅l que ser谩 la gu铆a para el tronco de su cuerpo y un 贸valo un poco m谩s estrecho para sus caderas.
Step 1鉁忥笍:
To begin the sketch, draw a freehand circle with a vertical line attached to it as a guide for her torso, and a slightly narrower oval for her hips.
Paso 2:
El c铆rculo se tiene que dividir en dos con una l铆nea vertical y luego tres l铆neas ligeramente curvas horizontalmente. Agregar las gu铆as de los brazos que llegan a la altura de las caderas y tambi茅n a帽adir las l铆neas de las piernas.
Step 2:
Divide the circle in half with a vertical line, then add three slightly curved horizontal lines. Add arm guides that reach the hips and also draw the leg lines.
Paso 3:
Comenzamos a hacer los ojos, para ello las gu铆as que hicimos anteriormente nos servir谩n de mucha ayuda. La l铆nea del medio ser谩 la gu铆a de la nariz, a la altura de la primera l铆nea horizontal van las pupilas y de ah铆 se hace el contorno de los ojos que llegan hasta el borde del c铆rculo.
Step 3:
Let鈥檚 start with the eyes. The guides we drew earlier will be very helpful. The middle line serves as the nose guide, and the pupils go along the first horizontal line. From there, draw the eye outlines reaching the edge of the circle.
Paso 4:
De la tercera l铆nea gu铆a sacamos la boca sonriendo, luego el contorno de su cara que tiene forma de gota y adem谩s las orejas.
Step 4:
From the third guide line, draw her smiling mouth, then outline her face in a teardrop shape and add her ears.
Paso 5:
Hacemos una l铆nea curva que pasa por encima de su cabeza, iniciando en una oreja y terminando en la otra. Luego el cuello de su su茅ter y el contorno de su tronco gui谩ndonos del 贸valo de las caderas. Despu茅s su falda, mangas y cabello largo que la caracteriza y es muy voluminoso. F铆jense que su pelo termina justo a la altura de las mu帽ecas y que tambi茅n agregu茅 la punta de sus dedos debajo de las mangas del su茅ter. No olvidemos tambi茅n sus zapatillas.
Step 5:
Draw a curved line over her head, starting from one ear and ending at the other. Then sketch the neck of her sweater and outline her torso using the hip oval as a guide. Next, draw her skirt, sleeves, and her signature long, voluminous hair. Notice that her hair ends at wrist level, and I also added the tips of her fingers peeking out from the sweater sleeves. Don鈥檛 forget her shoes.
Paso 6:
Por 煤ltimo sus brackets que van justo en la tercera l铆nea del c铆rculo y son tres, adem谩s el estampado de su su茅ter, una estrella con un arcoiris.
Step 6:
Finally, add her braces, which go right on the third line of the circle, there are three of them. Also draw the design on her sweater, a star with a rainbow.
Paso 7馃枈:
Con un marcador de punta super delgada (yo utilic茅 lapicero porque no ten铆a marcador) realic茅 el contorno de toda la figura. Remarcando solo las partes que quer铆a que quedaran, es decir, las l铆neas gu铆a no se deben contornear.
Step 7馃枈:
Using a super fine-tip marker (I used a pen since I didn鈥檛 have a marker), I outlined the entire figure, emphasizing only the parts I wanted to keep. The guide lines should not be outlined.
Paso 8:
Con mi goma, borr茅 todas aquellas l铆neas gu铆a que ya no se necesitar铆an m谩s. Y remarqu茅 el lapicero para que quedara el color negro m谩s intenso.
Step 8:
I used my eraser to remove all the guide lines that were no longer needed, and I went over the pen lines again to make the black color more intense.
Paso 9馃枍:
Lleg贸 la hora de darle vida con los colores, la parte que m谩s me gusta馃挆 Mabel como es muy alegre, est谩 vestida de una forma muy llamativa, su su茅ter lo colore茅 con color rosado chicle y en el centro algo que llama mucho la atenci贸n es el detalle que tiene, un arcoiris y su falda morada, bonita combinaci贸n y unos colores que ya al verlos da alegr铆a.
Step 9馃枍:
Time to bring her to life with colors, my favorite part馃挆 Mabel is very cheerful and dresses in a bright, eye-catching way. I colored her sweater bubblegum pink, and the detail in the center, a rainbow, really stands out. Her skirt is purple, a lovely combination that instantly brings joy.
Paso 10馃┓:
El 煤ltimo paso para este dibujo fue un fondo llamativo tambi茅n por los colores de su ropa. As铆 que yo quise hacer un degradado con tonos rosados. Inici茅 con color rojo por fuera de la figura, luego rosado oscuro, posteriormente rosa chicle y despu茅s colorear muy clarito todo el fondo y listo馃挆
Step 10馃┓:
The final step was creating a vibrant background that complements her outfit. I chose a gradient in pink tones, starting with red around the figure, then dark pink, followed by bubblegum pink, and finally a very light pink to fill the rest of the background. Done馃挆
驴Qu茅 les pareci贸 el resultado? A m铆 me gust贸 el toque que le dio el fondo porque la hizo resaltar much铆simo, adem谩s el rosado es un color que va mucho con su personalidad. Fue un dibujo muy divertido de hacer, ya quiero que me acompa帽en en mis siguientes creaciones. Espero que les haya gustado, hasta la pr贸xima 馃摲馃寠馃尨
