First post of the year and this is the 27th in the series discovering abilities. This week we talk about the poison ability and we do it with a battle where this interesting ability will be one of the battle conditions. The card I'm going to use to study this week's ability will be a legendary that came as a bonus with the release of the Chaos Legion packs. I'm talking about, as you might have guessed, Doctor Blight. Let's get to analysis number 27.

Esta semana hablamos de la habilidad veneno y lo hacemos con una batalla en la que esta interesante habilidad será una de las condiciones de batalla. La carta que voy a utilizar para estudiar la habilidad de esta semana será una legendaria que llegó como bonus con la salida de los packs Chaos Legion. Hablo, como ya habrás imaginado, de Doctor Blight. Vamos con el análisis número 27.

Poison could be said to be an advanced skill. In the entire Splinterlands universe there is only one card with this ability at level 1: Waka Spiritblade, which is also a legendary rarity card in the death deck. In addition, poison is an ability that often appears as a battle condition. Its contribution to the game is to deal damage to the poisoned card at the start of the next round after it has been poisoned. That is, if Doctor Blight attacks and applies poison, at the start of the next round that card will take damage. The chance of applying poison when attacking is 50%.

Poison podríamos decir que es una habilidad avanzada. Y es que en todo el universo Splinterlands solo hay una carta que cuente con esta habilidad a nivel 1: Waka Spiritblade que, además, es una carta de rareza legendaria del mazo de muerte. Además, poison es una habilidad que suele aparecer como condición de batalla. Su aporte al juego es la de causar daño a la carta envenenada al comienzo de la siguiente ronda a la que haya sido envenenada. Es decir, si Doctor Blight ataca y aplica veneno, al comienzo de la siguiente ronda esa carta sufrirá daño. La probabilidad de aplicar veneno al atacar es del 50%.

A total of 26 cards, three of them Gladius edition, have this ability at some point in their evolution. As I said before, only Waka Spiritblade at its initial level. The Death and earth decks, with seven and six cards respectively, are the decks with the most cards with poison, while the Life deck only has Silvershield Assassin, which provides poison at level 5.

Un total de 26 cartas, tres de ellas edición Gladius, cuentan con esta habilidad en algún momento de su evolución. Como he dicho antes solo Waka Spiritblade en su nivel inicial. Los mazos de muerte y naturaleza con siete y seis cartas respectivamente son los mazos con más cartas con veneno. Por contra, el mazo de vida solo cuenta con Silvershield Assassin que aporta veneno en su nivel 5.

As I said before, the playability of poison is to deal damage at the start of each round to the card that has been poisoned. The chance to apply poison when attacking is 50%. In addition, when poison appears as a battle condition all cards in combat take two points of damage at the start of each round. As poison is applied in round 1 the poison damage starts to be applied in round 2.

Como he dicho antes, la jugabilidad de veneno es causar daño al comienzo de cada ronda a la carta que haya sido envenenada. La probabilidad de aplicar veneno al atacar es del 50%. My opponent in the battle will be

@zaptran0201 who will be fielding a death deck led by Thaddius as a summoner. My strategy has been to play a ground deck taking advantage of the magic bonus provided by Obsidian, a summoner I just promoted to level 4. The combination of the battle conditions Little League and Poison will be decisive and will give a significant advantage to my opponent who will end up winning this match.

Mi rival en la batalla será @zaptran0201 que va a formar con un mazo de muerte liderado por Thaddius como invocador. Mi estrategia ha sido jugar con un mazo de tierra aprovechando el bonus mágico que aporta Obsidian. Invocador que acabo de ascender a nivel 4. La combinación de las condiciones de batalla Little League y Poison serán determinantes y darán una importante ventaja a mi rival que acabará ganando este combate.

Doctor Blight will not be decisive and since one of the battle conditions is poison it is an ideal match to test the power of this ability which will cause damage to all cards and cause significant casualties in my ranks. Thaddius removes Obsidian's bonus and kills my chances of victory. The battle is played in the Silver III league to which I have just been promoted in the battle prior to the one shown in this review.

Doctor Blight no será determinante y como una de las condiciones de batalla es veneno es un combate ideal para comprobar el poder de esta habilidad que causará daño a todas las cartas y causará importantes bajas en mis filas. Thaddius elimina el bonus que aporta Obsidian y liquida mis opciones de victoria. La batalla se juega en la liga de Plata III a la que acabo de ascender en la batalla anterior a esta que mostramos en este análisis.

Poison is a really powerful ability. When it appears as a battle condition it's a pain in the ass and it's a determining factor in your line-up, and you have to be very careful not to place cards with two health or less as they will die irreparably after the first round, which was one of the main reasons for my defeat in the example battle. Also, it is an ability that only appears in the higher leagues of the game because of the distribution of the ability on Splinterlands cards. So if you play in those leagues you shouldn't despise a skill that deals a lot of damage when it comes into play.

Poison es una habilidad realmente poderosa. Cuando aparece como condición de batalla es un dolor de cabeza y condiciona de manera determinante la alineación debiendo tener mucho cuidado en no colocar cartas con salud de dos puntos o menos ya que morirán irremediablemente tras la primera ronda. Esa ha sido una de las razones principales de mi derrota en la batalla de ejemplo. Además, es una habilidad que solo aparece en las ligas más altas del juego por la distribución de la habilidad en las cartas de Splinterlands. Por lo que si juegas en esas ligas no deberías despreciar una habilidad que causa mucho daño cuando entra en juego.
