Cheap is common and common is more essential. Have you observed something like this? Maybe you could easily have access to a glass of water than a lap of a turkey. We are weighing the cost here but you can do a whole day easily without the former but the latter will cause you a dehydration problem.
Or maybe oxygen is just too common that we breathe in and out without any second thought. When you come to realize how much people spend daily on oxygen when they have health issues you will start not overlooking what is assumed common.
Can we also attribute this to news? It really does fly, it is more like air that sticks to the ears. There is a saying over here; ‘rumors do not need transportation’. It sails from here to abroad and you did not even pay a dime. Consider the current generation: a smartphone and an internet connection and my advice here for you is this; be careful. One mistake and you can go viral.
I was just hearing over a conversation from a distance and what later came in was one of them after dropping his call said someone just called him from another state and concerning the present issue.
Ahh!! How did it spread so fast was what many of them asked. When you know that technology has made the entire world seem like one room, there are questions you no longer raise.
Last night, I was hearing a news bang or maybe I should say headline tone playing over my neighbors TV. Ahh!! These people are still here and with the very same headline sounds from when I was a kid. Of course, there is no surprise of them being there (although maybe I was thinking overtime they should have garnished their headline tone. But on the other hand, it has also shown service uniqueness: I just knew it was them after such a long while).
The only thing that can be considered is that they’ve lost massive general attention. Nobody really has that time anymore for 9:PM national news. It was a hot cake, I could remember my Dad would spoil our movie fun time just to listen to what is latest.
What is happening in the government and some foreign additions to make it interesting. These broadcasting stations were national mouthpieces. Is news still valuable; even more valuable than it was by then.
In short, it has become a billion dollar industry. Content creation, advertising, lecturing and so on are channels serving as a form of news. We are talking of a global experience here. Events here and there and I can even add that it has even become a distraction.
Information has become one of the most digested products/services every 24 hours. As it is being quoted, ‘we are in the information age’. The added advantage of easy access that internet has brought about.
I was imagining during the hot seasons of war in the Middle East, people were still pulling out their smartphones to cover as it was happening. You may not really understand, how do you cover event of bomblast at your very corner?. Others all over the world in the process had easy access to first hand information.
To wrap it up, one can't cover the entire news that keeps surfacing daily. Things are and will always be happening. To even start with, our very life's are news headlines if we want to. A lazy day can be documented, a workaholic day, a good day and also a bad one too. You wake up after sleep, your dreams can warrant a lot of information if properly passed.
The additional take home here will be, know how to filter, yes, as I earlier said, distraction is also taking advantage.
