I think this is much of a business popularized term or we can also attribute it to governance. There is always a need for this and or I should say, it has been the reason why so many sectors of the government have been flawed.
Focus gets shifted from purpose and personal interest gets prioritized. You should understand the entire scenario, discipline and penalties are completely ignored and what more can you expect.
Delving a little again into business, when there is poor management, such things are likely to happen. Maybe also, the production floor of in-between workers forget the visions and daily targets of a company. The best thing here for businesses is always to sack or substitute someone for a much more efficient person; business must go on.
Ok, we are entering into faith talk. I was just getting through some teachings and scriptures in my head and I stumbled upon the book of revelation.
(To the church in Laodicea)
Revelation 3:14-17 NIV
“To the angel of the church in Laodicea write: These are the words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the ruler of God’s creation. [15]I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! [16]So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth. [17]You say, ‘I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.’ But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked.
More emphasis on verse 17; ‘a carnal sense of security’. Ok, I was still meditating on this scriptures then I got this insight; ‘there is always a need for check and balances’. The message to the seven churches is Jesus doing a check and balances concerning their current situation.
This also took me to something similar. There were times where prosperity messages were ignored in this part of the world. Believers grew in faith but we were under poverty; a massive lack of financial intelligence. It affected the growth of the church. It became a mentality that believers and pastors are always poor.
Over time, this gap was breached and we have seen pastors and evangelists who have been so blessed that they become both spiritual and financial blessings to their members and others outside. Nevertheless, this new message is getting mismanaged and this is where such checks and balances are needed again.
So most people now see God as a money doubler. Christian are now swerving from faith to fame; many are here for the physical riches. Prosperity messages are becoming the go to message; ‘receive it’ is now here and there. Many are forming disciples of Christ and are deceiving itchy ears minded followers who just are very focused on earthly riches.
So here we are again, this is a task we have to look into and fast. Many Christians are becoming prayerless and most who even get involved a little are centred on selfish interest prayer points.
