Emotions and feelings are present in us every moment and, sometimes, we get stuck in some of them. When the emotion is high vibrational or what we call positive it is perfect, when the opposite happens it stops our growth and expansion.

In recent days I pruned a beautiful garden plant and the experience was so positive that today I am sharing the experience as a metaphor.

About 2 years ago I was excited with the idea of covering the railing of an external staircase with a very beautiful plant, the double jasmine. A shrub with rounded, thick leaves of a very intense green that branches abundantly, making it easy to take branches and weave them into the railing.

Little by little I took it, it was growing and covering the railing, however, it did not bloom and what I like most about the plant is when it blooms, its small white flowers that resemble "roses" have a soft and sweet exquisite perfume. I dreamed of seeing a staircase full of little flowers. The truth is that about 3 weeks ago I realized that the vine was too ugly and I noticed that it had never released its flowers.

So, I decided to do a deep pruning. I started by cutting everything that had been embedded in the railing and I left it approximately 60 cm from the ground and quite extended as it is. To my great surprise, after three or four days it was already sprouting and not a week had passed when it was full of little buds, that is to say, the bush was going to bloom beautifully, and indeed it has done so. Now the jasmine is full of many little flowers and my house has an exquisite aroma.

Now, what did I learn? That pruning is sometimes necessary to bloom. And that by transferring the experience to emotions and feelings I realize that these sometimes require pruning, because we fill and load ourselves with emotions that limit us, stagnating and repressing our growth and evolution.

Of course! when we talk about feelings and emotions it is not so easy to "see" and distinguish what withers us but, if our thoughts and feelings constantly return to a point that causes us discomfort, sadness, anger, we can start there and ask ourselves, for example: What is behind that emotion, what causes it, why is it constantly present in me? And, from there evaluate what we can do. This self-evaluation and the consideration of alternatives is the beginning of emotional pruning.

By pruning the emotions that affect us negatively, we manage to clean, clear what limits us and like the jasmine we sprout strengthened: we bloom, grow and expand.
