Since I have Godfall: Challenger Edition, I was able to skip past the story mode. As soon as I finished the tutorial, I was leveled up to 50 and had all of my skills maxed out. Some might find this to be lame, but I wasn't mad about it at all. I was happy to have all of the best things in Godfall available right away. Instead of having to grind through the repetitiveness of the slasher-style gameplay to get to see the coolest stuff.
After unlocking my first Valorplate, it was time to further explore The Sanctum, which is the main hub where you launch missions. I ventured towards the training room first, which allows you to test out all of your abilities. Then it was off to the forge to explore how to upgrade equipment with resources that fall from defeated enemies. You can also enchant your equipment to improve rarity.
I haven't noticed any microtransactions in this game yet. This honestly surprised me quite a bit. This game is glamorous, so I assumed they'd have things for you to pay real money for everywhere. Instead, there is an in-game currency that you can earn pretty rapidly in the endgame, it is called Electrum. There is a store where you can purchase power items with your Electrum. I started out with enough to buy the most powerful weapon available.
There is a menu for quests and rewards, which will happen naturally as you play. The more Valorplates that you use and the more you switch up your weapons, the more quests you will complete without even thinking about it.
You can head towards the central part of The Sanctum and open up the world map. It is here that you can launch missions and see the various game modes. There is quite a bit of variety here. Let's discuss the options.
The first option is the Tower of Trials. This is a mode where you face waves of enemies and get a break in between rounds. If you are really up for a challenge, you can try out the Ascended Tower of Trials.
Dreamstones are the next mode. This allows you to replay memories, which basically lets you see things from the story that you may have missed out on if you are like me and only have Godfall: Challenger Edition. Be careful with Volatile Dreamstones, you can only play these once. So you better not fail, go in only once you are fully prepared.
The next mode is called Lightbringer. This is a horde-tyle mode and staying in the light is the safest bet with this one. If you venture into the darkness you will find deadly enemies that are corrupted. Lure them into the light to find yourself at an advantage.
Of course, there is the option to fire up matchmaking and play all of this in co-op. This is a pretty great addition, this seems like one of those looter games that would be a blast to play with some friends.
In this video, I will show you everything there is to see in the Sanctum. Everything discussed in this blog will be in the video if you wish to have further clarity on any of it.
Look out for more Godfall videos coming soon. I think it is about time that I show off some of the action-packed gameplay that this beautiful game has to offer.
