This prompt really put my brain to work thinking about things I've never thought of before. I am among those people who have what we call "weird imagination" when it comes to visiting places for holidays; in fact, one of them is to travel to space, not minding the cost. But I've never given it a thought about the places I don't want to visit or the reasons why.
So today, I placed my thoughts on a travel mood, scanned the whole world (the parts I know though), and I found some places that I'll never dare to visit, not even on mere visitation, not to mention getting a holiday thing there.
One thing that scares me most is war. Each time I read such news, my heart breaks because I don't know how those people will sleep today, they wake up the next morning to start dodging bullets, seeing dead bodies laid dead on the floor while they pick up their belongings to start running helter-skelter.
Let me start with my country;
You see, in those northern parts of Nigeria, no matter how reasonable the standard of living is there, I don't dream of going there for any reason. Ever since I was born, I've known the northern part of Nigeria to be a troubled zone with always a fight between militants, communities, and soldiers. I wonder how they're coping.
Imagine if I traveled, lodged in a fine hotel for my holiday, and in the middle of the night, that particular area gets raided by kidnappers. It scares me a lot.
Okay, there was a bad occurrence that happened late last year where armies on their helicopter threw bombs at a village while they were gathered to celebrate a festival, and they lost a lot of lives. It was said that it was a mistake because the soldiers thought it was a camp of bandits. Imagine that!

Let's take it as if I went to such a state for a holiday and decided to drive to the village to feed my eyes with their tradition to make my experience more memorable, and that happens. God forbid!
Be it a very nice place or not, northern Nigeria is a no-go area for me.
Many times, I asked my friends in the north how they're coping, and they always came out with, "We are fine; life is good here." To me, I don't believe this because they can't tell me that what I read in the news is always a fallacy.
Leaving Nigeria's shores, which part of the world comes next??
I don't know much in details about other countries, but due to constant wars happening, I can never be near that country called Russia. Funny enough, this is one country I once admired in 2018 when they hosted the World Cup (Russia 2018), but life happened, and it's a no-go area for me.
During the time when the war between Russia and Ukraine was at its peak, I watched a lot of clips, and everything was just as we see in war movies. No regard for life or property.
I can't just imagine myself being in such a country, even though they say some parts are peaceful.
