No matter what you say, think or feel ultimately on this journey of life you are alone. For many, this sounds like hell. We run from it. We scurry through our friends list on Facebook to find someone to chat with when we are faced with a night to ourselves. Others prefer to be alone, but still, need human contact, and the rare few really love being completely alone. You have all felt it, that moment when you're surrounded by those you love and you know they love you, but you are completely alone. You feel it. No one understands you or where you are coming from. You wish you could find the words to explain what's in your head, but you can't because the words don't exist. I've been down two intriguing, dark, scary and wondrous rabbit holes because of this feeling. The first one "I'm the only person that exists and everyone and everything is a figment of my imagination". The second one "I don't exist". The second one is my favorite. It's a stretch of the brain and imagination to consider the idea that you aren't really there.
Anyway back to the subject. Accepting the fact of being alone is actually good for you. It makes those moments of genuine connection so much more important and thrilling. It makes you face the fact that if you are stuck with you for the majority of the time you better get to know and like yourself. You may even come to understand yourself and be a little easier on you. Imagine that a world where you treat yourself as you would a stranger? We spend so much time wondering what other's think, feel, or want from us. We worry about it constantly. What's crazy about this is the only really important person is right there. Reading this blog. We seek validation when we know exactly why we did what we did or do what we do. Why would we need an outside source to tell us it's okay? We have less trust in ourselves than we do the teen babysitter who watches our kids, our lovers, our spouses or even that guy holding the sign on the corner. Everything we need to know to accept ourselves and be who we are meant to be is to simply look inside yourself and be it. Don't seek validation from without, seek it from within. At the end of the day, all that really matters is what you think of you because you are alone anyway.
I Love You All. I Love Me Too!!!
