Cathie Wood doesn't flinch at market crashes. She shops them. On Friday June 5, as the Nasdaq closed down more than 4% — rattled by jobs data that all but killed hopes of near-term rate cuts — ARK Invest's founder was busy deploying nearly $10 million across a handful of carefully chosen positions. Two of the biggest buys were squarely in the crypto space.

The buys: where the money went

The largest single move of the day was a $8.35 million addition to Circle (CRCL) — the company behind the USDC stablecoin. With crypto stocks taking a double hit from both broad equity weakness and digital asset pressure, Wood used the dip as an entry point. Coinbase (COIN) also made the list, with ARK adding just over $2 million to its position in the exchange. Rounding out the purchases: DoorDash (DASH, +$2.5M), Beam (BEAM, +$2.67M), XE (+$1.38M), Pony (+$1.25M), and KDK (+$488K).

The sells: aviation out, AMD continues

On the sell side, the headline exit was Archer Aviation (ACHR), with ARK offloading $7.76 million worth of the urban air mobility stock. The AMD sell-off also continued — a slow-burn trim that has been underway for some time, with no official explanation from ARK.

The bigger picture

This is a pattern Wood has shown before: when markets crack, she tends to lean in rather than pull back. Friday's session offered exactly that kind of opportunity, and ARK used it to build out positions in names it clearly has conviction on — especially in crypto infrastructure, where Circle and Coinbase both sit at the intersection of blockchain adoption and institutional finance.

Whether the dip turns out to be a buying opportunity or the start of something worse remains to be seen. But for Wood, the answer — as usual — was to act.
