With the price of Precious Metals blasting off, I thought today, sellers would be pouring more inventory into the Local Coin Shop. Somebody sold some mishandled American Silver Eagles, probably a couple of hundred, that ended up in the junk box, (my favorite) So I picked up these 13 tougher dates for $28 (USD) each. Dates are 1986, 1994 & 1996. I did overlook some 1997s, so may go back tomorrow.
Yes, they are a little dinged up, but I can touch and handle them without worrying about it. No white cotton gloves needed. And they are still .9993 Silver underneath the imperfections. Yes, I have read that ASEs are .9993. and notice they read FINE Silver rather than .999 or .9999.
