The TP-82 was a triple-barreled Soviet pistol that was carried by cosmonauts on space missions.
Sounds weird but in the aftermath of 1985, two cosmonauts spent three nights in the Siberian summit without any weapon to defend themselves from wild animals.
So an order was issued to make a special gun for the needs of the cosmonaut.
Engineers have made a special gun with three pipes-barrels.
The upper two smoothbore barrels used 12.5×70 mm ammunition, and the lower rifled barrel used 5.45×39mm ammunition.
The detachable buttstock was also a machete that came with a canvas sheath.
This survival kit was used until 2006 when they decided to retire it.
It is not known what kind of survival kit they use after 2006.
