Lately, I’ve been thinking about a simple question: why am I still motivated to post, engage, and invest my time here on Hive?
In my entire experience on the internet, Hive is the only platform where I have remained consistently active for so many years. Other platforms came and went from my daily routine. Some were exciting for a few months, while others eventually became boring or felt meaningless. But Hive has always been different.
My journey in this ecosystem began in 2016, long before Hive existed in its current form. That period was during a strong bull market, and everything felt crazy in the best and worst ways. The earnings were impressive, the drama was intense, and almost every part of the blockchain ecosystem seemed to be flourishing.
Content creation was booming. Open-source development was moving quickly. New ideas, communities, and projects appeared almost every day. For me, it felt like a digital gold rush. Everyone wanted to participate because it seemed like we were discovering something completely new.
Then came another powerful bull season around 2018. That period was also unforgettable. The excitement, activity, and value flowing through the platform made it feel as though blockchain-based social media was about to take over the internet.
Since then, however, we haven’t experienced another season that felt quite the same.
Today, the situation is much rougher. The price is weaker, attention from the wider crypto market is limited, and the rewards do not feel as exciting as they once did. It would be understandable for people to lose interest, reduce their activity, or leave the platform entirely.
And yet, I’m still here.
I’m still creating content, engaging with other users, curating posts, and investing in the platform. At this point, it isn’t mainly about trying to earn more. Of course, rewards still matter, but they are no longer the biggest reason I continue.
My main motivation is to help keep the platform alive.
Every blog post adds another piece of content to the blockchain. Every thoughtful comment creates another conversation. Every upvote supports a creator. Every Hive token powered up strengthens someone’s connection to the platform.
These actions may appear small when viewed individually, but when thousands of users do them consistently, they become the heartbeat of the ecosystem.
I also know I’m not alone in feeling this way. There are developers improving the technology, witnesses maintaining the network, community leaders onboarding new users, curators discovering overlooked creators, and investors continuing to support Hive despite the market conditions.
Many of them are not doing it simply for immediate profit. They are doing it because they believe Hive deserves to succeed.
That is what makes this community different from many other crypto projects. Some projects are held together mainly by price speculation. When the token pumps, everyone becomes active. When the price falls, the community disappears.
Hive has proven that it can continue operating even when the hype is gone.
The people who remain are not just waiting for a quick pump. They are building, creating, maintaining, and supporting something they genuinely value. We may express it differently, but I believe many of us share the same goal: we want to make Hive great again.
Hive deserves a place near the top because of what it has already achieved. It has fast transactions, social media applications, games, communities, decentralized development, and a loyal user base that has survived years of challenges.
Perhaps the market does not fully recognize those achievements today, but that doesn’t erase them.
I believe surviving this bear market will make Hive stronger. Difficult seasons remove weak conviction and test whether a community is truly committed. Many non-believers may have already been shaken out by the long price downtrend, while those who continue investing their time, energy, and resources are building a stronger foundation for the future.
When the season eventually changes from bear to bull, the people who stayed may finally see the value of their patience.
