Every year, like clockwork, we have this relative who shows up with gifts before Christmas… and by gifts, I mean the most universally loved kind: money. šŸ˜‚

What makes it even more special is that it’s not a one-off thing. They’ve been doing it for decades. Back then, I was still a young teen, just happy to receive anything at all. Fast forward to today… I’m already an adult, and somehow, I’m still receiving.

Honestly, it’s one of those traditions that makes you pause and feel grateful.

They’re doing well in life, and they’ve made it a habit to share that blessing with family. And it’s not just us. From what I’ve seen, they’re also generous to their employees, which makes me believe they genuinely live by that saying:

ā€œThe more you give, the more you receive.ā€

I don’t know if it’s a universal law, or just good karma mixed with good character… but in their case, it really feels like there’s truth to it.

So… what did I do after receiving my ā€œSanta Uncleā€ money?

I did what any responsible adult would do.

I treated myself to a nice burger at Chops and Sear. šŸ˜‹

There’s something about using a gift to create a simple, enjoyable moment. Not investing it immediately. Not overthinking it. Just sitting down, eating a good meal, and appreciating the season for what it is.

And of course… while I was enjoying dinner, my brain decided to wander into the most predictable place possible:

ā€œWill there be a Santa Rally this year?ā€

Not for Bitcoin. Not for Ethereum.

I mean… for $HIVE.

A Santa Rally for Hive… is that even possible?

Let’s be real.

$HIVE has been dwindling for years now. And because of that, it’s hard not to wonder if investors will ever look back at Hive and ask:

ā€œIs this still worth paying attention to?ā€

But then something interesting happened.

Over the past 24 hours (at least from what I saw), Hive suddenly pumped close to 10%, and that tiny burst of green did something dangerous to my mindset…

It gave me hope.

Not the ā€œwe’re going to the moon tomorrowā€ kind of hope.

More like: maybe there’s still a pulse here… and maybe the market isn’t done with Hive yet.

Could we get a mini Santa Rally on Christmas Day?

Maybe.

Will it be phenomenal like those older crypto eras where retail investors used to send random altcoins into orbit?

Probably not.

But still… I can’t deny that even a modest move would feel refreshing after all this slow grind.

My personal ā€œunderwhelmingā€ target: $0.30

If Hive somehow reaches around $0.30, I already know the reactions will be mixed.

Some people will say it’s underwhelming.

Others will quietly smile because they’ve been accumulating below $0.10, and to them, that’s a very decent profit window.

That’s just how it is with Hive lately.

It’s a token that can feel ā€œdeadā€ for months… then suddenly remind you that volatility is always waiting in the background.

And I still remember earlier this year, when Hive kept appearing in CoinGecko’s Top Gainers, climbing steadily until it almost touched $0.60.

For a moment, I genuinely thought:

ā€œOkay… this is it. Next stop is $1.ā€

But it didn’t happen.

Instead, the price slowly bled back down, and we haven’t really recovered since.

Is the Santa Rally idea pure hopium?

Yeah. It is. LOL.

But if you’ve been around Hive long enough, you also know this chain can surprise people when they least expect it.

And honestly, with Hive sitting at these lower price levels, it doesn’t take a miracle to move it.

With the right momentum, the right wave of interest, and enough volume, price levels like $0.30 or even $0.50 start feeling mathematically possible again.

But price isn’t the endgame

Here’s the part I always come back to.

Whether we end the year higher or not… that’s not really the main mission.

Price moves are temporary events.

They excite traders.

They create hype.

They trigger FOMO, then fear, then silence.

But long-term holders? The ones who’ve been here through multiple seasons?

We’re usually thinking about something else:

  • Is the platform still being built?
  • Are apps still improving the experience?
  • Are we gaining real users, not just speculators?
  • Is the community still alive?

Because if Hive grows in development and user base, price eventually becomes a lagging reflection of that progress.

So yeah… I’ll admit it.

I’m enjoying my burger.

I’m grateful for my Santa Uncle.

And I’m holding a small bag of Hive hopium in my pocket… just in case Christmas decides to surprise us. šŸŽ„šŸ
