DCA, Hivebuzz Power-Ups, and Hive Marathon: Investing in My Hive Future
Earlier this year, I began focusing more on my Hive Power growth. Although I've been active on the platform for over four years, it’s only recently that I’ve reignited my commitment to achieving my goals. I’m starting to realize the true value of building a substantial amount of HP for my future on the platform. For me, staking $HIVE into Hive Power offers exponential growth due to the many benefits it brings to my overall standing. This is a topic that could be explored further, as there's much to discuss.
In this post, I want to focus on what motivates me to power up and the platform initiatives that keep me consistent in doing so.
As mentioned earlier, I started paying attention to my HP growth earlier this year. Back in January, my HP was around 2K, and with determination, I set a goal to reach 10K HP. My plan is to stay consistent with my posting activity to achieve this. Additionally, I considered buying $HIVE to help me reach the goal. At that time, $HIVE was priced between $0.35 and $0.45, which was relatively low but still not affordable enough for me to buy a substantial amount with my fiat savings. So, I focused on posting and engaging to earn tokens and grow my HP that way.
Now, with August here, the typical season for crypto to hit low prices, HIVE followed the trend and dropped significantly... so much so that I couldn't resist buying. That’s when I participated in my first Hive Power Up Day (HPUD)! Although I had done a few small power-ups before, I hadn’t aligned them with these events until this August.
I was thrilled by the gamification Hivebuzz brought to the platform. Being recognized for every positive action, no matter how small, feels great and is incredibly encouraging. This is why I’ve continued to participate, including in this month’s HPUD. It gives me a sense of achievement as I grow my Hive Power, even though the event lasts just a day. So, I thought, why not take it to the next level by joining Hive Power Up Month? It’s more challenging than HPUD since the minimum requirement is to power up at least 1 HP every day for the entire month. I enjoy a good challenge when it comes to consistency and dedication, so I went for it. It's been five days, and I haven't missed a single one!
Then I learned about a new initiative by @hive.marathon, which significantly raised the challenge. The minimum requirement is to buy at least 20 HP from centralized exchanges and power it up to your account daily for the next 90 days. I decided to join, along with eight other participants who were brave enough to take on the challenge.
I think the timing of the Hive Marathon initiative couldn’t be better, especially since $HIVE is at its lowest price this year. It makes buying and accumulating more feasible, though 20 HIVE per day is still quite steep for a low-to-middle-class Hiver like me.
What’s cool about both the Hive Marathon and HiveBuzz's HPUM is that I get to experience the thrill of daily dollar-cost averaging (DCA)—something I’ve been wanting to try for a while. I’ve been hearing a lot about DCA recently, both in the blogs I read on the platform and in investing-themed podcasts. It’s widely considered the best way to invest in any type of asset.
And there’s no better place to practice that than on the Hive platform. Transactions here are fast and almost free. The transaction fee for buying $HIVE on exchanges and transferring it to my account is very cheap, around 0.01 HIVE. The process is very accessible and easy to do, even from my mobile phone. With the @keychain app installed, I can power up while riding the MRT—I can literally power up HIVE anywhere!
Thanks to low transaction fees, fast processing, and the user-friendly @keychain app, investing in Hive Power has never been easier. Comparing this process to how things worked a few years ago, I’m really excited to see how much the platform has progressed. It makes sense to invest now and build a substantial stake on the platform. I truly believe the future is going to be even brighter here as development continues.
