Ingredients:
2 cups prawns (medium size, clean with water and remove shells)
1/2 cup fresh coconut (grated)
About 9 dried chilies (red)
3 onions (chopped)
1 teaspoon turmeric powder
8 pepper seeds
1 teaspoon coriander seeds
4 cloves
1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
1 cinnamon (1/2inch)
About 10 kokum (garcinia indica)
2 tablespoon oil.
Salt (to taste)
Preparation:
Heat 1/2 tablespoon oil in a pan
Add chilies, coriander seeds, cumin seeds, cloves, pepper seeds, cinnamon, 1.5 onion- to the pan and fry till the mixture turns brown.
In a mixer : add the above mixture (from the pan) with coconut - and grind to make a fine paste (add some water if needed)
Heat 1/2 tablespoon oil in another pan and simultaneously add the following ingredients: prawns, turmeric powder, 1.5 onion, kokum - fry for about 2 minutes
After frying add 1 cup water to the pan , and boil for 2 minutes
Add paste (from mixer) and salt - to the pan, stir well and boil for 5 minutes
Turn off the heat and the prawn curry is ready!
Prawn curry can be served with bread or roti or rice.
