Hello, Foodies Bee Hive community! I see so many amazing chefs here posting beautiful recipes and amazing dishes every day. Today I have a confession to make: I love food, but I don't know how to cook. In fact, you might call the kitchen my ultimate danger zone.
Most of you can make a masterpiece out of simple ingredients, but my best skill is just waiting at the dining table.
My Legendary Jollof Rice Fiasco 🍚🔥
Let me tell you how bad I am in the kitchen. Let me tell you about the time I tried to help make Jollof rice. It seemed like it should have been simple, and I wanted to be able to prove I could be of use.
My task was simple: heat up the oil to start the base. I put the oil in the pot, turned up the heat, and left the room for a few minutes. That was my first big mistake.
When I got back to the kitchen, I was greeted by thick dark smoke. The oil was totally overheated, and the bottom of the pot was black as pitch! The kitchen reeked of burnt rubber. I panicked and turned off the stove and knew then and there that I am a hazard to culinary art. The day came when I said, "Okay, I accept my fate; some people are born to cook, and I was born to eat."

Thanks, I don't starve myself. I am so lucky to have an amazing family member who is a total wizard in the kitchen. They are the ones that save me every day with perfectly seasoned, smokeless, and delicious Jollof rice and other amazing food. For the safety of the house, I keep a safe distance from the stove, but I make sure to show my appreciation by finishing the dishes!
