If you don't find something to do to replace screens, you will get back to them very quickly.

Many times, I've found myself trying to leave my seat, then wandering in the house and eventually going back on the computer in minutes. Because I was bored. Because I didn't find something else to do. There were no reasons for me to get off the computer.

To get rid of Internet, at least a few hours a day, you need to do something tangible. With tangible things or with tangible people.

There is plenty of pleasant things to do away from screens: sport, DIY, cooking, reading books, play an instrument, drawing, meeting people, go to an art exhibition, discuss with your family, walk your dog and yourself, charity work...

It's okay to use the Internet. Everybody does it. But Internet is not life. It's just a part of it. And yes, internet IS addictive. Because it's limitless. Because there is so much to learn, to read, to watch and to listen to. Because it's open 24/7, 365 days a year. Because you will always find a reason to click on that next link, to watch that last video. Because developers work with psychologists to make apps and websites addictive.

But once you created reasons to get off the computer, Internet suddenly becomes less important. It goes back to what it is: just a part of your life. And not all your life.

So, create reasons to get off the computer. Your reasons. The ones that matters to you or to human beings around you.
