I don't listen to politicians as it is all about them and their gains.I think one needs to make up their own minds on how serious this thing really is. I tend to look at everything in numbers as that makes sense to me and I don't like what I am seeing right now. You can't bullshit figures as even though these could be manipulated they are not for a pleasant read.

I think this is starting to make more sense now. We hear of people having Covid -19 and only suffering from a mild cold and then others are dying in intensive care. Scientists now believe there are up to 33 different mutations of the virus already.

What I find concerning is the numbers and the percentages of people that have been infected against the people that have died. I am not interested in the amount of live cases as there isn't a finalised outcome yet.

This one is from a few weeks ago and the numbers have shot up at an alarming rate since then but the averages are roughly the same for completed outcomes.

Looking at the completed cases that have a result either way and these are only the hospital figures without the people at home on these reports. When we look at the figures on the Worldometers site which is being constantly updated there is a worrying trend. The death rate percentage is high and you cant look at the total live cases with the death rate as those are still live cases.

It is not all doom and gloom though as it seems hopefully most of us will miss being a statistic having a hospital stay and hopefully a vaccine is found soon enough. That is what we are all hoping for anyway and that is what gives us all hope.

If you are a patient in the States the stats tell us currently you have a 1 in 3 chance of dying from this if admitted to the hospital. 46 000 people have lost their lives out of a total of around 130 000 completed cases. Completed or finalised is when you are given the all clear or have succumbed to the virus. The States has a total of around 820 000 cases of which 120 000 have been completed leaving 700 000 patients to recover. I am praying that those figures do not follow the trend of what we have seen already as that means another 200 000 deaths in this current batch of cases.

Italy and France is running a similar stat and is roughly a 30 percent death rate unfortunately. Germany is currently at around 5 percent but that could also be down to the strain they have not necessarily a different type of treatment which was originally thought of first.

Many countries like South Africa have been in lock down for over a month so the virus hasn't really even started. The truth is going to come out soon as it is impossible to protect everyone indefinitely. I expect a number of lock down's this year as the numbers climb and drop. The omen is not looking good to getting much achieved this year until a vaccine is found.
