One week in Crypto is like 1 year in real life as everything happens at a frenetic pace. If you disappear for one or two days you actually miss out on quite a bit.
Yesterday when the soft fork was announced I was on my way to bed and kind of had to stay up as had no idea what was going on. Once I understood that the role of the witnesses is to protect this place then I relaxed a little.To be honest I did not know that this was their primary role. They are not only protecting all the users, but also Justin's investment which is only right. He is one of us now and he needs to make this work.
This is the way I see it anyway and after reading his quick response this morning he obviously realizes he has a team of witnesses doing their job. A multi talented group who can write code in order to protect the entire system. Steemit Inc were not the only ones who could do code.
If I had bought and invested in something like what he has I would actually find it reassuring what just happened. This would make me warm and fuzzy knowing that the community is here and working unlike most other block chain communities. I am not technical and my trust is with the top 20 witnesses doing the right thing.
Getting Justin's attention they sure did and now it is the start having a Town Hall meeting on March 6th. The AMA we had the other day was nothing more than PR and to be frank nothing was really covered and never would. We all left there with more questions than answers and finally the partnership can start at the Town Hall.
This is monumental for everyone as I see it as a win win as this was what the soft fork was all about really in my thinking. We needed Justin's attention and some face time to iron out important issues in order to work together. What we have is special and possibly not normal as we have been through so much together over the last few years.
This was another test that the witnesses passed with flying colors and shows me we have the right people in place. This was a good call and totally unexpected by me. Exciting times certainly lay ahead from here on in and I for one can't wait to be a part of this adventure.
