An English start-up named London Block Exchange is working on the creation of a credit card for cryptocurrencies.
Although the use and regulation of cryptocurrency such as bitcoin or ethereum divide, they continue to become increasingly democratic. Google has recently authorized the Bitcoin as a currency for its payment API, while rumors are spreading that Amazon would consider adopting this new currency as well. And despite the fact that bitcoin is highly volatile at the moment, the London Block Exchange start-up is nonetheless considering the launch of a bank card to pay in encryption.
The objective of the London-based start-up LBX is to enable users to convert several cryptocurrencies into pounds so that they can spend them within the UK. Cryptocurrencies currently supported by the project are bitcoin, ethereum, ripple, litecoin or monero. In the future, however, LBX plans to integrate more of these into its project. To date, the start-up has already raised over £2 million from a consortium of private investors whose names are not yet mentionned. As far as operation is concerned, users would use a prepaid Visa card called Dragoncard.
