Happy Monday folks! 👋🏽
The time has come we’ve all been waiting for…this week’s big reveal of the many tease projects we enjoyed last week.
If you are wondering what this is all about you can check out our contest announcement that explains what we were looking for during this tease challenge.
I enjoyed joining in for the fun last week. Basically, I really liked teasing everyone with what I was making. As stated before my project is very low key and was very easy on my hands. This made me enjoy doing the work even more.
Do you all remember when I made my crocheted chain link necklace and I mentioned I was going to make one for both of my daughters too? Well I did try but the yarn was way too soft to form sturdy chains.
I came across another way to make their necklaces. These puff stitches work up so fast and easy! I was really excited to be able to make my youngest daughter, who just turned three, her very first crocheted necklace. I will be working on my oldest daughter’s necklace next. 😀
Thanks to all who commented on my post last week and guessed what I was making. Congrats to @carolinacardoza who was the only one that guessed correctly that I was making a necklace! As an extra token I have sent you 5 Hive! 😉
Now let’s get to the final results of this necklace.
I wanted her to have two layers. After double wrapping the necklace I sealed it together by using one of the yarn ends to tie the layers together ending with a knot.
This is where the ribbon comes in. My three year old is a true girly girl that loves pink girly things. ☺️
It wouldn’t be complete without a bow on her necklace.
I always love to seal the ends of ribbon after it’s cut to prevent fraying. Normally I do this quickly with a lighter but we currently don’t have one on hand.
Thankfully there are other ways to seal it like with glue or clear fingernail polish. I decided to go with the latter this round and use my clear top coat. You only need a thin layer when doing this.
Once the ribbon was cut to my liking I painted on the top coat while holding up each end. I made sure not to put on too much as I didn’t want it to be a thick noticeable glob in the end. To speed up the process I blew on the polish for a few minutes.
This next step was vital! Now remember this necklace is for my toddler so hot glue won’t do. 😂
I needed to secure this ribbon on to make sure it doesn’t get pulled off too easily. Here comes the sewing…
I was pretty satisfied with how snug it was. I tried pulling the ribbon apart but couldn’t so mission accomplished.
Are you ready to see the final results full spectrum?
What better way than to have the owner of the necklace model it for you? 😊
To answer your question (the needlework minds in this community are strong and we can hear each other’s needlework related thoughts 😁) yes she loves it!
Throughout the making she kept asking
Is that mine?
She really lit up and asked a few more times while I was making the bow.
Mama, is that for me?
I kept reassuring her that everything I was doing was all for her. 🤗
Let’s just see how long it stays pretty. 😅
Thank you so much for tuning in once again to witness my reveal!
I’m now off to get more rest then I shall return to visit your big reveals!! Whoo Hoo!! 🤩🥳
Please don’t forget to add your reveal link to the comment section of the announcement post for your entry to qualify. 😘
