Well a not so happy one. Last year I posted about a bird flying into our home and here we are graced with another visitor. Maybe it’s the smell of essential oils that keeps them coming. 😄
We believe it flew in through the front door while loading in some items. I was in my room when I heard the flapping of it’s wings. I stuck my head out the door and there it was at the top of the stairway.
Now of course me being a little nervous of being clawed I decided to grab the camera and take some shots of him with the door slightly open. I wasn’t letting this little guy in our room hahaha!
The kids were so excited that we had another visitor. They stuck their heads out from the room door to give a peek but every time the bird took flight they hurried to close it just in case.
My husband started to usher it out toward the front door gently with a broom. After so long you could tell he was so ready to get out of here. I was afraid it would hurt itself by flying to the ceiling so fast bumping into it. The last place it landed upstairs was in front of the room our children were in. They kept yelling out,
Mom we see it’s feet! This is so cool!
He stood there for awhile looking around trying to find a way to escape. His face tells it all...
Finally it flew downstairs into the dining room. My husband opened the back patio door to encourage him to fly out. Well we lost him for a moment. We didn’t hear any flapping or chirping and couldn’t find where it had landed. After 30 minutes I slowly crept into the dining room, looked behind one of the chairs in the corner and saw it looking up at me. It looked so timid. It seems he decided to stay quiet and pretend it had left so we wouldn’t mess with him. My husband helped him get to the door and happily he flew out and away.
This will definitely be one of those memories our kids will have for a lifetime. They will remember how birds kept flying into our home to visit. It is hard to resist the smell of essential oils! 😅
Thanks for Reading about our flightful visitor!
