Enjoy photos of my young pair of hydrangeas as their leaves prepare to change color.
When Pope Julius decided he no longer liked the stars painted on the ceiling of his sanctuary, he commissioned the greatest artist of the ages to repaint it. The colorful frescoes upon the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel painted by Michelangelo are said to have taken four years for him to complete.
A forest is able to repaint an entire landscape in a matter of days.
These hydrangeas are beginning to change in color. With their deep umber tones, the tips of the leaves actually burn under the slightest speck of sunlight.
Though these are cuttings saved from the boring white snowball variety of the many more interesting colors available to hydrangeas, I am learning other ways in which it can still be amazing to me.
These trees rooted very easily initially, and they seem to make lots of suckers from the roots also. When they get too tall, or too clustered, I prune them back into a simpler form.
Even though the leaves are bit large for traditional bonsai, I quite enjoy the fact that they quickly build a full green canopy to cover every branch. Together, it builds a finished looking tree in shape, even though the total tree is very small in size. It already magnifies the essence of what a larger tree might look like within the same window frame view.
This final photo above displays what I think is the best angle for each tree, showing each branch in the most interesting shapes.

I'm not entirely sure which one of these was named Beauty originally. The shape of the tree has changed quite a bit since it was last photographed. I believe it was most likely the tree pictured on the right side above.
The other tree is currently without a nickname. Help me out if you can think of a good one!
