I agree with you that we build these fences gradually, almost losing the sense of reality while doing so. We are very complex creatures and perhaps our idea of being completely understood by someone is somehow overbearing and utopic. With some past dark trauma maybe we will not share it with anyone. It is a very complicated topic and yet its importance is paramount in our day to day lives.
The stars would not shine if it wouldn't be dark so maybe our adversities and wounds can show us how we can glow despite the dark traumatic inferno. There is always a way out and that is, paradoxically, going within.
I think that we need to allow ourselves to open up while remaining vigilent. Being too open shows no idea about boundaries while being cold and unavailable shows a lack of emotional openness.
