Exploring by foot a forest can be quite an experience. Although we love to see images with fairytale like forests, when it is just us surrounded by trees.... It can be different. In the daylight is amazing. But after the darkness falls, a forest walk can be only for the brave hearted.
Calmness, peace, meditation, silence....There are so many things that you can find while you take a walk into the forest. Usually people go on a hike or in nature trips when they want to deconnect from the mundane. Of course that a walk into the forest can be relaxing, but usually when the nighttime comes, most of us would not like still being there, in the woods. Why do we find the forest to be so beautiful in the daylight and what makes us be somehow scared when the night falls?
Somebody with a quircky humour would say that we people watched too many horror movies, and the forest is good and peaceful even when it鈥檚 completely dark out there. I agree, but still we must admit we can鈥檛 just shake this feeling off. It鈥檚 there. So in this abstract painting I explore this fear, by creating this fantasy forest creature, lurking from the woods.
There are all sorts of legends about forests. Some of them seem ludacris, some might spark your imagination. Here in Romania we have a forest called Hoia Baciu. The most haunted forest in the world some say馃憖. Uh wow, definetely bonus points for tourism there 馃ぃA lot of people are so scared going there because it is a myth around it, supposedly it is haunted. I raise my eyebrows at this, but chicken me, I admit I would not go there alone at night. A simple google will reveal you some images and some stories.....
