¡Adiós y que te vaya bien!

Hola a todos. Espero que estén muy bien. Desafortunadamente para todos los que usamos la red social del pájaro azul, la noticia sobre su desaparición ha causado algo de revuelo, la verdad es que a pesar de lo muy moderno o empapado que estemos de tecnología no estamos preparados para divorciarnos de ciertos prototipos, imágenes o palabras.

Hace poco otra red social cambió de nombre a META, mientras que a la vista de todos no ha sido percibido ya que conserva su nombre original en su plataforma, sin embargo la del pájaro 🐦 acabó con todo; logo y nombre. Para muchos comprensibles, para otros no. En fin, para el nuevo dueño, según mi juicio, el cambio dará más sentido de propiedad ya que en todas sus empresas la X ha estado presente. Sean cuales sean sus razones él es quien manda sobre esta red social. Quedará de nuestra parte continuar en ella o no luego de conocerse los verdaderos cambios.

Hello to all of you. I hope you are all very well. Unfortunately for all of us who use the bluebird social network, the news about its demise has caused something of a stir, the truth is that despite how very modern or steeped we are in technology we are not ready to divorce ourselves from certain prototypes, images or words.

Recently another social network changed its name to META, while in the public eye it has not been perceived as it retains its original name on its platform, however the one with the bird 🐦 ended with everything; logo and name. For many understandable, for others not. Anyway, for the new owner, in my opinion, the change will give more sense of ownership since in all his companies the X has been present. Whatever his reasons, he is the one in charge of this social network. It will be up to us to continue in it or not after the real changes are known.

Para despedir al pajarito decidí tejerlo para usarlo ahora en llavero. No me había llegado la actualización y justo en horas de la noche se realizó el cambio, debo confesarles que me desconcerté porque no conseguía el logo viejo en la pantalla de mi teléfono y había olvidado del posible cambio.

To say goodbye to the little bird I decided to weave it to use it now as a keychain. I had not received the update and just in the evening the change was made, I must confess that I was puzzled because I could not get the old logo on the screen of my phone and I had forgotten about the possible change.

Me dió mucha risa después cuando con calma revisé y allí estaba la X en medio de otros logos de app descargadas. La primera intención fue tejer un pájaro mucho más pequeño, pero la cantidad de hilos de coser color azul no era suficiente, así que lo realicé con el hilo pabilo que acostumbro a usar y un ganchillo de 1,60mm para que no quedará tan grande.

I had a good laugh later when I calmly checked and there was the X in the middle of other downloaded app logos. The first intention was to knit a much smaller bird, but the amount of blue sewing thread was not enough, so I made it with my usual pabilo thread and a 1.60mm crochet hook so it wouldn't be so big.

Es un tejido básico, sencillo y muy rápido de elaborar. No sé si estaba rebelde en el momento o quizá triste, quería dejarlo sin ojos ya que no les harían falta, luego recordé algunas cosas muy personales de mi vida y me retracté. Le cosí sus alitas completas para que no volara más.

It is a basic, simple and very quick to make. I don't know if I was rebellious at the time or maybe I was sad because I wanted to leave him without eyes since they wouldn't be needed, then I remembered some very personal things in my life and I took it back. I sewed his complete wings so he wouldn't fly anymore.

También le hice el pico, bien cerrado porque eso sí lo tenemos muy claro 😜 no piará más. Después quise colocarle unas patitas y se las hice débiles para que no camine muy lejos, asi podremos tenerlo presente por más tiempo. En mi caso fueron más de 12 años viendo el icono en la pantalla, en los últimos 5 años he estado más activa en la red, Hive ha influido en gran parte con esa actividad.

Then I wanted to put some little legs on it and I made them weak so it won't walk too far, so we can keep it present for a longer time. In my case it was more than 12 years watching the icon on the screen, in the last 5 years I have been more active on the net, Hive has influenced in great part with that activity.

Ya casi terminado por completo le coloqué un hilo para guindarlo en mi llavero y mientras lo hacía reflexioné 🤔 ¿Por qué coserle las alas si ahora será libre para volar y posarse donde lo desee? Así que cuidadosamente destejí y dejé sus alitas abiertas.

Estuve un ratito entretenida pensando en estas cosas de la tecnología y todo lo que ello implica. Ahora el nuevo dueño de X convertirá la red en un sitio para comercio más que para socializar como estábamos acostumbrados (es lo que se comenta en algunas otras redes). Espero que les guste mi nuevo llavero 😃 seguirá estando cerca, pero con sus alas dispuestas para cuando se quiera ir.

Almost completely finished, I attached a thread to hang it on my keychain and as I did so, I reflected 🤔 Why sew its wings if now it will be free to fly and perch wherever it wants? So I carefully unknitted and left his wings open.

I was amused for a little while thinking about this technology stuff and all that it entails. Now the new owner of X will turn the network into a site for commerce rather than for socializing as we were used to (that's what some other networks are saying). I hope you like my new keychain 😃 will still be around, but with its wings ready for when it wants to go.
