Smart people are easy to learn in general, especially if things can be better than what you need to do at school. But that doesn't mean they like to be there.

The biggest problem you can have with smart people is that they don't have difficulty. If you can do something good, then you want to do it on your own level. If you like to play football, if you want to play football against other good players, the 5 year old neighbor is not exactly a good workout. If you're at school and you get 5 times an explanation about something you already understand after 1 hour, you're already doing homework in the lesson, then it becomes boring and annoying.
This is the reason why intelligent children create problems and intelligent children do not always get high scores. No more interested, no more attention, sometimes AD (H) D is thought, but only boredom. If they understand why do they have to pay attention? They don't do their best anymore, numbers and fun are over.
If you are at the right level, the school (or learning or just everything) is fun for everyone. Find the perfect place where the summit is not so easy and not so difficult, it's fun to learn.
