So the weather is pretty crap around here this morning and I felt I needed something to cheer me up a bit so I made a smoothie out of fresh greens and some strawberries.
Outside, it's raining, the wind is messing up my plants; I picked some strawberries so they don't get ruined, they ripened alright since yesterday, they don't seem to care it's pretty much Mordor out there. Picked some greens from the greenhouse as well.
I've got micro radish and pea shoots as the main body of the smoothie, pineapple mint and lemon balm for a bit of freshness and zinginess and the strawberries for sweetness.
Gave them all a quick wash and chucked them into a kitchen robot. I wish I would have one of those fancy nutribullet things but my old trusty robot does the job as well, although I did need to strain the drink at the end. I've added a bit of milk to help with the blitzing.
Strained everything into a glass and BAM! , that's it.
Tastes pretty fresh and I won't bore you with the speech about the supposedly insane health benefits of freshly juiced greens; I don't really care that much about that, it just tastes nice and makes me feel like I offset the not so healthy breakfast I had.
As a bonus have a look at the pretty root mass I was left with after harvesting the radish greens.
Cheers
