Aaaand it's happening! Tomatoes are coming in! First truss getting ready to be eaten! These are sungolds.
My sungold is the most precocious plant so far this season. It's about 1-2 feet taller than the others and it's almost reached the top of it's support. Going to have to lower it by next week properly.
This is how the roots are looking under the plastic coverings; they seem a bit dry on the top but look really healthy so not worried about anything there.
Look what I've found! A tiny tomato volunteer plant growing between the slabs! Don't know what to do with it; should I let it grow there? transplant it? heh, that little guy's got some will to live showing up there!
Rockets are getting annoying now, growing quite wild. Salads are ready to be harvested again.
One of the strawberry plants in the tubes had enough and ... died.
The good thing about this system is that plugging a new plant in is incredibly easy and fast. Just removed the dead one and swapped it with a new rooted runner.
Spinach keeps bolting. I remove the flowers every day but it makes no difference. Going to remove it this weekend.
The basil finally started experiencing a growth explosion this week. It was so sluggish, I thought it would never get started but I'm glad to have been wrong on this.
