The hubby drove to the Lil Kingdom this morning to check on things. I opted to stay since the wet weather isn't to our liking, lol! Besides, I want a quiet time. Initially, I thought of spending the day lazily and just snuggling with my little boy. But then, the day had another plan for me.
Seeing the lettuce seedlings got me in gardening mode. It's been more than 2 days already since I transferred some of them into the net cups, and it's time to put them into their grow boxes. Checking the nutrient solutions first. Two of them, 500 ml each, labeled as SuperBlend A (colorless) and SuperBlend B (brownish-black). No ingredients indicated, just the "How-to's." I guess the seller wants to keep them a secret😊
Filled the styro box with 8 liters of tap water, then measured the nutrient solutions to mix in: 5 ml per liter, so 40 ml from each bottle. But wait at least 30 seconds before mixing in the other, it said.

While moving the net cups into the box, I noticed a garden snail clinging to one of them. Gotcha! Sorry to say, but its journey to the top had to be stopped. I couldn't kill it, though, but I hope it won't be back.
I continued to fill the other grow box with 7 liters of water and 35 ml of the nutrient solution, then placed the net cups into the corresponding holes.
And here they are (day 25 from sowing). They still look thin due to a lack of natural sunlight, but I am hoping they will continue to grow and thrive, making our first hydroponic experiment a success.
Anyway, I cleaned the patio afterwards and checked the drainage around our little bodega, ensuring there was no clog. The rain kept pouring, even stronger than yesterday, and it is quite worrying, but I trust we are safer now. May the new week be brighter.
