Depending on where you are in the world today might be the International Children's day for you, so Congrats to your inner child!
Seeing how we're in elderflower season I thought I'd make a drink we couldn't get enough of as kids. It's one of those OG fizzy drinks; a cross between a lemonade and a soda with elderflower cordial drink.
It all starts with flowers. I got quite a few here, I used a chunk of this bag to 'dryhop' my latest brew; that should turn out quite well, I hope.
For the 2 litre jar I've used only a few flowers are needed, maybe 4 palm sized ones. Washed them to get rid of dust and any critters, put them at the bottom of the jar, sliced a lemon, added about 150g of sugar and filled it all up with water. And that's it; it does need about 3 days in the sun so that it can ferment. Some people add yeast to hurry the whole process up but that's not necessary, there's plenty of wild yeast all around us.
To the greenhouse now!
Salads are doing their thing. They grow too quick, can't use them up quick enough.
The toms are looking better now, the new leaves have uncurled and looking healthy. I've added nutrients to the reservoir again, a weaker solution then before though.
The ghouse strawberries have finished cropping now, there's still some fruit left, but not much. I've been rooting some runners; the little jiffy pellets are great for this.
I've moved a few in the system already, curious to see how they're going to do in there.
Thanks for having a look!
