It's been a week since the lettuce has moved into the new system. It seems to be doing pretty well out the outside, had 1.5 harvests since moving them and they keep growing.
There does seem to be a problem with the roots though - oxygen deprivation maybe?
I've bought a few seedlings today, don't think the store was selling them very well as they were discounted 3 times and practically free. THey're not the best looking but I am playing around with a different plug design to see if I can fix the root issues without getting an airstone.
I've done 6 of these with different amounts of claypebbles in them to see if the roots will like this better.
Dealing with the roots was depressing. As an aide I had The Lawn Mower. Got this because I liked the can.
And the usage instructions on the back. I don't have a lawn, so I had to go for the second option.
Looks nice. It wasn't a nice beer. At all.
I did not have high hopes for it, but I did expect to get a hoppy lager. It was just malty and sweet; besides the colour, the only thing I liked about it was that it was ...chilled and wet.
Anyway, that's it; if anyone has any ideas about the roots, please gimme a shout. EC = 2(my water comes out at .6 so EC would be 1.4 I guess) , PH is a bit high at 6.8 - 7.
Cheers
