A couple of months ago I had my last tomato harvest and a lot of them were still really green. I didn't think they would actually ripen so most of them were used up as green toms in various dishes.
I kept one though just to see what would happen and how long it would take.

This is how green they were on the 3rd of Nov and the one in the previous pic is the same one from the left top corner of the container.

I knew tomatoes would keep ripening after picking but I didn't quite expect it to go this well. I'm gonna save this one for another week so I can say I had home grown toms up to Christmas, heh.

To celebrate this achievement, I opened a festive beer.

The blurb seems fancy enough for the occasion, with all that honey, jasmine and pear drops.

It's quite clear, not surprising given how long it's been matured for. It does seem like a strong beer, but I wouldn't have guessed by taste alone that this is a 10 percenter. Ouch. The pears do come through though and it's got a pretty floral aroma.

Well... that it, gonna enjoy this for now.

Cheers!
