Good morning all,
I've been rather lazy when it comes to steeming over the last few days. It seems that now that I'm in my thirties a hangover lasts for a million days and it kills any initiatives, hehe.
Anyway, I've been fishing over the weekend and had a pretty good session.
I've started my Saturday session with this little guy.
I got that one even before I had time to crack open my fishing aid.
I was looking forward to this beer, I love Brewdog beers and this one was bigged up a lot by one of my friends. It is an interesting one, but it did disappoint me a bit, probably because I hyped it too much in my mind. The blurb on the back made me get excited as well.
Can't say it isn't a good beer but maybe it was a bit too Belgian for my mood on the day. I wanted more fruitiness, basically more IPA, but hey, I did enjoy it afterall. It became better with every sip, so while I was slightly underwhelmed by it I will probably give it another go.
It didn't take long after opening and the larger perch started coming to the shore to have a look at it.
We had a quick photo shoot and it went back in the water.
It must have enjoyed its experience because it wasn't 5 minutes later when one of its slightly larger brethren ate my worm and came to say hi as well. Funnily enough, my mate had a bite right at the same time so we both had a perch and they had a reunion on the bank of the river. These later fish were both about 1 foot long (31 to 34 cm) which is a good size for perch in the UK.
Popping it back, this fish was a bit more adventurous and performed a somersault. The height I dropped it from was quite small so it wasn't harmed in any way and it took off straight away.
All of these fish were caught with earthworms from my compost bin. Found out these are so much better than shop bought ones, probably only because they were so much livelier not having spent days in a fridge in some shop beforehand.
Well, that was it with this session, thanks for following along!
