This is Melby. He's an American Crow friend of mine. He lives with his wife and child on the block across the street.
Nearly every day when I walk through his hood he shows up to ask if I have any food for him.
(He looks brown in this picture because the air was smoky and turned the sunlight red.)
Sometimes his partner, Voolie, shows up, too.
On this particular day, they even brought the kid. I call this baby Valentine.
When I put the food down for them, Melby always goes first.
Valentine was very excited and went second.
Voolie joined them shortly thereafter.
It took a while to build trust with them, but then it seemed to blossom overnight. I am glad to know them. They are a beautiful family, and very photogenic. Even while eating.
