Soma requested a meeting at the western gate of Grantebridge, prompting me to row there with my longship crew after spending a quiet moment with Synin. Following a tensed standoff with the ruler, Wigmund, we detonated oil barrels to blow open the gate, slaughtered the garrison, and marched toward the longhouse.
It was a new day, and I found my raven, Synin, resting on my shoulder, so I gave the bird some time to relax, enjoying the quiet morning atmosphere before the heavy burdens of the upcoming campaign officially began.
Then after talking to all three advisors of Soma, I went to speak with her, and she asked me to meet her at the western gate of Grantebridge, as they would assemble there to finalize their tactical approach.
I found my longship along with my crew nearby, so I started going to regroup with Soma's clan, and we had to row the longship for a moment, while I enjoyed the scenic views of the mist rising off the winding riverbanks.
After reaching the western gate of Grantebridge, I left the longship and I found Soma just describing her plans to her soldiers about how we should move after getting the signal and not a moment before to maintain the absolute element of surprise.
When I went to speak to Soma, the mission started and they started walking toward the gate in a tight, disciplined formation, weapons down and ready for immediate deployment against the garrison.
As Soma started calling by the name of Wigmund, who was the ruler of this place now, he came to check on them from above the wall, but he didn't care to get down for a chat, choosing to taunt us safely from his high point instead.
As Wigmund backed up without giving the summer army time, our soldiers decided to charge, and I had to shoot some oil barrels that was placed at the gate, unleashing a massive explosion that tore the heavy gate completely to pieces.
After exploding the gate, we entered inside and we started slaying the enemy soldiers, and you can see how I was ripping their limbs apart in the chaotic, close-quarters melee that filled the main courtyard.
While both my Norse warriors and the summer armies were fighting the enemy soldiers, I was taking my targets down in brutal ways, executing powerful heavy attacks while I retrieved some of our fallen soldiers as well to keep our front lines pushing forward.
We haven't seen Wigmund since we breached the wall, so Soma asked us to regroup at the longhouse as we should surely find him there, so we're marching ahead and I noticed this cruelty of the false king who hanged poor peoples after killing them.
