After establishing a crucial alliance with Soma, I located our longship on the opposite side of the island. Choosing a peaceful boat ride over fast travel, we enjoyed the calming river scenery and traditional Viking songs sung by the crew before finally arriving home at Ravensthorpe to report the success to Randvi.
I finally finished everything with Soma, and we successfully made our alliance. It felt really good to get that done because it was a very big deal for our clan. But then I looked around for my longship, and I realized it was not where I left it.
I checked the map and and called Synin to find the longship was actually sitting all the way on the other side of the island. I could walk across the land, which would take much time.
So I looked around the water and I found a small rowboat instead. I got into the small boat and started rowing down the river to go get my big ship.
I finally made it to the other side of the island and I found my longship waiting for me. My crew was all there, and they were ready to go. I got out of the small rowboat and climbed onto the big longship.
As soon as I took control of the ship, my crew put their oars into the water and we started moving.
We set our course directly back to our home settlement, Ravensthorpe. The wind was hitting our sail perfectly, so the ship was moving really fast through the deep water. To make the trip even better, I commanded my crew to start singing. They started singing a traditional Viking song, and it sounded really cool as we sailed down the river.
While we were sailing, I noticed a small Saxon settlements on the banks of the river. It looked like we could easily raid them to get some loot, but I decided to just ignore them this time. I wanted to focus on getting back home to hand in the quest, so we just sailed right past it.
Soon after that, we sailed past the very first area where we started our journey in this region. It was cool to see that place again because it reminded me of how much work I did to complete this whole saga.
Finally, I could see Ravensthorpe ahead of us on the shore. I sailed the longship right up to the dock, and the game started the automatic docking scene to park the ship safely.
I got off the ship and walked straight up to the big longhouse. I went inside to find Randvi because she was standing right by the alliance map like she always does.
I approached her to report that the Grantebridge saga was completely finished and that Soma was now our ally. Ranvi was very happy with the news and she praised me for doing a great job.
After we finished talking about the alliance, she told me that a new trader had just arrived at our settlement and set up a shop outside, and asked me to check on that trader next.
