There is no shortcut in life, the road that looks like a shortcut is longer than the real road most time.
After following the easy route, you find yourself on that same road you ended up avoiding.
This story is not about me but a real-life story about taking a less road.

Uduak is a beautiful and intelligent woman but she is always sad that things are not going according to her plans.
Uduak has feasible plans for her future.
She diligently studies hard to pass her jamb and make her waec but after writing each paper, neither her jamb grade will be low nor her waec will be seized.

This is not what she was hoping for, well she tries countless times.
Nothing since to work. Then she confides in her aunt.
Her aunt advised her to forget schooling as it might not be her calling or if she insisted on trying again, let her bribe her way through which she refused.

As God will have it after trying, she finally got admission to study business administration instead of the law she wanted.
Haven't gotten tired of writing jamb, so she decided it was best she manage the course expect of waiting for another year to write another jamb. Everything since to be moving ahead very fine for her.

Until her final year, when a new lecturer showed up he was strict and very mean. He doesn't even care what you are going through. Just pray not to fail his course. Every student was afraid of him. They all started to look for means to pass, then in their vulnerable state, their course rep decided to take advantage of that to extort them. He asks that everybody pay the sum of 10,000 if they want to pass the lecturer course.

Uduak was devastated, Haba that money was too much for someone that is looking for money to write her project.
She spoke to her friend Nmasinachi, nma what do you think about this money stuff.

Nmasinachi suggested that they pay or sleep with either the course rep or the lecturer so they can pass.
Uduak was shocked at Nmasinachi's suggestions, she shouted the name, how can you even think of sleeping with a lecturer to pass your exams that's bad.
Nmasinachi, say to Uduak or do you have a better idea?

Uduak was quiet, then Nmasinachi says I taught so with a frown on her face.
Uduak was in a state of dilemma, after thinking for some time she bluntly refused Nmasinachi's idea, stating that none was favorable.

Nmasinachi reminded her this is her final year, except she is willing to repeat another year.
Uduak sought advice from her other friend who advised that they pay.
Telling her that that's the only short cut except she wants to go sleep with the man.
Uduak decided that she would raise the money or sleep with a man. After all, all die na die.

After the exam, when the results came out. Many people had the course carry over except Uduak and a few other people.
This is what happened the lecturer in question wasn't wicked but just strict.
Uduak couldn't come up with the money and she didn't dare to make advances toward the lecturer, so she decided to study extra hard and took night classes.
She only joined in pretending that she paid even when she didn't pay because she didn't want her friends to make mockery of her

The lecturer got wind of what was going on because a student summoned up the courage to beg the lecturer to reduce the money as she couldn't afford the amount, the lecturer had imposed on them. The lecturer was confused and called the course rep to his office to explain what the girl was talking about, the course rep was speechless as he didn't expect the outcome of his decision
to turn out like these and the lecturer asked him to hand over the list, which he did and he failed everybody on the list including the course rep who masterminded the whole thing.
You will be wondering who took the money, well the lecturer took the money from him. Only him knows what he did with it

Uduak was grateful she didn't take the shortcut that some of her friends took, she would have been crying like them right now. She was thanking God that she couldn't come up with the money.
That extra year she was avoiding would have reached her.
