In every sphere of life people who are in power sometime try to use it in a way that is very wrong and that makes it abuse of power. I know that we have exemptions because some people still have the fear of God in them so power does not affect them in anyway.

Power is such a sweet thing that some people do everything it takes to get it, but after getting it their real color comes out and people begin to ask if is the same person they know before is this. A lot will begin to happen. The truth remains that you don't know someone who is humble until that person have the opportunity to prove it. Someone may be humble today because he or she doesn't have the power yet. When power comes you will know that this person you know before can do the unimaginable. That is life for you. The topic for this week is a reminder that people can actually change when power comes. Let me use my little experience with some lecturers to give example of how people can abuse power.
Four years back when my daughter was still in the Nasarawa state College of Education Akwanga, after year one she moved to year two but the result of year one was not yet out. After some weeks into year two the results were out and they started moving from one department to another to check for their results. Unfortunately for one lecturer he refused to give my daughter her result for his course claiming that is was missing. I told my daughter to go back and tell him to allow her check the place where all the results are kept, but the man refused. Later she told me that the man has been trying to friend her and she refused so he felt that at this junction he can deal with her as he wants.
I was very angry when she told me about his actions but I decided to keep calm. After my lectures one hot afternoon I decided to pay him a visit because as at that time I was also running my degree programs in the same environment though not tje same school. When I got to his office and explain to him why I was there, he told me the same thing that her result was missing, I told him that I want to check through all the results in the office and he refused, when he noticed that I was not ready to give up and allowed me go through all the results. Friends do you know that he result was kept at the top just after some other results. If he wanted to see it he would have done so but because he had something in mind he refused to check. When I brought it out and showed him he pretended not to know but it wasn't my business. She got A in his course and I left. This happened on Monday and on Tuesday when my daughter came to his office he told her that he can't record her result until she pay him some money and I sent her back to him to tell him that she is not paying anything and her result was recorded for her.
This is a very clear example of people misusing their power. Some of them don't know that tomorrow they might not be in that office and it will be their turn to beg for help. From that day on he stopped disturbing my daughter and I can't even recognize him even when I see him on the road. People need to know that they can't stay in an office for ever. The office was there before you came and you will one day go far away from that office and another will occupy it.
